Handmade Nature of Ceramics

All items sold by Elderkiln Ceramics are handmade. Slight variations in size, shape, glaze, texture, markings, and colour are a natural part of the ceramic process and make each piece unique.

No two items will ever be completely identical. These variations are not considered defects.

Product photographs are taken as accurately as possible, however colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.

Product Care

Unless otherwise stated, functional pottery pieces are food safe.

Many pieces may be used in the dishwasher and microwave, however hand washing is strongly recommended to help preserve the longevity of the glaze and ceramic surface.

Ceramics should not be exposed to sudden temperature changes (thermal shock), as this may cause cracking or breakage.

Customers are responsible for handling ceramic items with reasonable care.

Order Processing

Orders are generally processed within 3–7 business days unless otherwise noted.

During festivals, holidays, or busy periods, processing times may occasionally be longer.

Custom or made-to-order items may require additional production time.

Shipping

Shipping times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Elderkiln Ceramics is not responsible for delays caused by postal services, customs, weather conditions, strikes, or other circumstances outside our control.

Customers are responsible for providing a correct and complete shipping address at checkout.

Any customs duties, taxes, or import fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Damaged Packages

All items are carefully packaged to help prevent damage during shipping.

If an order arrives damaged, the customer must contact Elderkiln Ceramics within 24 hours of delivery.

To process a damage claim, customers must provide:

  • clear photographs of the damaged item,

  • photographs of the packaging,

  • photographs of all packing materials,

  • and the shipping label.

Packaging materials should be kept until the claim process is complete.

Failure to report damage within 24 hours may affect eligibility for replacement or refund.

Approved claims may qualify for:

  • replacement,

  • store credit,

  • or refund, depending on item availability and circumstances.

Returns & Exchanges

Due to the handmade nature of the work, all sales are considered final unless an item arrives damaged or the wrong item was sent.

Returns or exchanges are not accepted for:

  • minor handmade variations,

  • glaze differences,

  • colour differences caused by screens or photography,

  • buyer’s remorse,

  • or damage caused after delivery.

If a return is exceptionally approved, the item must be unused and returned in original condition. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Custom orders and personalized items are non-refundable.

Lost or Stolen Packages

Once a package has been marked as delivered by the shipping carrier, Elderkiln Ceramics cannot guarantee reimbursement for lost or stolen parcels.

However, if delivery issues occur, I will do my best to assist customers in locating the package whenever possible. Customers are encouraged to contact the shipping carrier directly and check with neighbours or local postal offices.

Please note that Elderkiln Ceramics cannot be held responsible for packages lost or stolen after confirmed delivery.

Right to Refuse Service

Elderkiln Ceramics reserves the right to cancel or refuse orders in cases including:

  • incorrect pricing,

  • unavailable inventory,

  • suspected fraud,

  • or inappropriate behaviour.

If an order is cancelled, a full refund will be issued.

Intellectual Property

All photographs, product designs, logos, descriptions, and branding associated with Elderkiln Ceramics remain the property of Elderkiln Ceramics and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.
